About us
The Practical Nursery is run by two people: a mom who tests baby products in the middle of real, messy, sleep-deprived life, and a dad who is an engineer and can't help checking how things are actually made. We started this site for one reason: when we were setting up our own nursery, almost every "review" we found online was written by someone who had clearly never touched the product. Long feature lists, no mention of what actually breaks, and suspiciously few cons for products that cost real money. So we built the site we wished had existed instead: everything here has been used in our own home first, we say so plainly when we haven't tested something yet, and we'd rather tell you to skip a popular product than pretend it's perfect for a commission.
Who we are
Our review policy
- We test in our own home. If we haven't used it, we say so plainly.
- We always list the cons. Every product we recommend includes at least two genuine drawbacks, nothing is perfect.
- We don't accept payment for positive reviews. Ever. Some links earn us a small commission (see our affiliate disclosure), but that never changes a verdict.
- We stay in our lane. We review convenience and organization gear. For safety topics (car seats, safe sleep, feeding health) we link to official sources like the American Academy of Pediatrics instead of giving advice.
How we test
Every product goes through weeks of daily use before we write about it. Read the full process on our How we test page.
