Momcozy vs Baby Brezza comes down to one trade: speed against capacity. The Baby Brezza warms 8oz in a rated three minutes. The Momcozy holds nearly twice as much. We carry both, we rate both a 5 out of 5, and which one goes in the bag depends entirely on the shape of the day.

One thing to be clear about before the comparison. Both of these are the cordless portable warmers, the kind that live in a diaper bag rather than on a counter. We also own a Momcozy countertop warmer, and the Baby Brezza here is not its countertop sibling. If you are shopping for the kitchen rather than the bag, that is a different comparison and it sits in the best baby bottle warmers.

The quick verdict

Buy the Baby Brezza if the problem you are solving is a baby who has already noticed the milk is not ready. Three minutes is a different experience from twelve when someone is crying in a car park, and the slim shape means it travels in a cup holder rather than eating the middle of the bag.

Buy the Momcozy if the problem you are solving is a long day. A 17oz fill covers more than one feed, so you are not refilling from something else you are also carrying, and the locking lid has survived our bag without spilling once.

Neither is a compromise version of the other. They are two answers to two different questions, which is why they are both 5s.

The speed rows are the ones to read carefully. The Baby Brezza’s three minutes is for 8oz from room temperature, and the Momcozy’s two and five minute figures are for 4oz. Our own 10 to 15 minutes on the Momcozy was a 10oz bottle, which is more than twice the volume its rating assumes. Comparing any of those numbers directly is how people end up disappointed, and we go through why box times rarely survive a real kitchen in how long a bottle warmer takes.

Baby Brezza: the fast one

5 / 5our rating

The whole unit is built around closing the gap between a cordless warmer and a plug-in one. Baby Brezza puts that at a 100 watt element against the 60 watts it says other portables use, and rates the result at three minutes for 8oz from room temperature to 98F.

The design choices around that are what make it easy to live with. The liquid goes straight into the stainless steel cup, so there is no adapter to lose and no bottle balanced upside down over anything. One button runs it, the current temperature sits on an LED display while it works, and it beeps and shuts itself off when it is done. You pour through a 360 degree spout or unscrew the lid.

At 3 by 3 by 8.3 inches it is shaped like a slim flask, which matters as much as the speed. It drops into a cup holder, a stroller pocket or the bottle sleeve of a backpack instead of taking the middle of the bag.

The limit is the 9oz cup, and a 6oz storage bag is the ceiling for bag warming. On a long day that means going back to whatever else you are carrying for a refill.

What we like

  • Rated 3 minutes for 8oz from room temperature, the fastest portable we have used
  • One button, live temperature readout, and it shuts itself off
  • Slim flask shape that fits a cup holder or a bottle pocket
  • Liquid goes into the cup itself, so there is no adapter to lose

What we don't

  • The 9oz cup is half the Momcozy, so long days mean refilling
  • A filled 6oz storage bag is the maximum for bag warming
  • The speed and even-heating claims are the maker's, not our stopwatch

Momcozy: the one that holds more

5 / 5our rating

The Momcozy trades the Baby Brezza’s speed for room. Up to 17oz means one fill often covers more than a single feed, and it has modes for both jobs: breast milk at 90, 95 or 98F, and water at 98, 104, 110 or 122F for formula days.

Momcozy rates it at about two minutes for 4oz of water and five for 4oz of breast milk. We were mostly warming 10oz bottles, and those took 10 to 15 minutes, which is roughly what our countertop warmer does with the same bottle. That is volume rather than a flaw, and it does mean this is not the one to reach for when the crying has already started.

The detail that earns the most trust is the lock on the lid. A portable warmer spends its life on its side in a bag next to wipes and a spare outfit, and a lid that seals is the difference between a warmer and a soaked bag. Ours has never spilled. Cleaning is four pieces, so the rinse after an outing is a travel mug job.

On battery, plan for about three comfortable warms rather than the rated figure, which assumes smaller volumes, and allow about an hour and a half to charge it back up.

What we like

  • Up to 17oz, so one fill can cover more than one feed
  • Locking lid that has never leaked in our diaper bag
  • Separate modes for breast milk and for water
  • Four parts to clean, which keeps the after-outing rinse quick

What we don't

  • A 10oz bottle took 10 to 15 minutes in our use
  • About three warms per charge, short of the rated number
  • A wider body than the Baby Brezza, so it takes more bag space

Where we land

Ratings compared

Every product on this page, ranked by our overall rating. These are considered verdicts after living with them, not the average of any table above.

Two 5s, and the reason both earn it is that neither is trying to be the other. The Baby Brezza does the thing a cordless warmer was not supposed to be able to do, which is match a plug-in one for speed. The Momcozy does the thing a small warmer cannot, which is cover a whole day on one fill.

Those ratings are a judgment rather than arithmetic. If your days out are short and the crying starts before the milk is ready, weight speed and the Baby Brezza wins outright. If you are gone from breakfast until dinner, weight capacity and it flips.

Which one we actually grab

Short trips take the Baby Brezza. Appointments, a walk into town, anything where the bag is small and the point is to not be caught out.

Long days take the Momcozy. Travel, a day at the beach, a drive with a stop in it, anything where refilling would mean carrying a flask of hot water as well.

If you are buying one and only one, buy for the trips you actually make rather than the worst day you can imagine. Most families make short trips constantly and long ones occasionally, which is a fair argument for starting with the Baby Brezza, and the reverse is just as true if your life runs the other way.

The bottom line

Speed or capacity. The Baby Brezza is rated at three minutes for 8oz and fits in a cup holder. The Momcozy holds up to 17oz and has never leaked in our bag. Both are 5s, both live in our house, and the only wrong answer is buying for numbers on a box rather than the length of your days out.

If you want both of them lined up against the rest of what we carry, that is the best portable bottle warmer, and each has a full write-up of its own in our Momcozy portable review and our Baby Brezza portable review.

Frequently asked questions

Which is faster, the Momcozy or the Baby Brezza portable bottle warmer?

The Baby Brezza, and it is not close. Baby Brezza rates it at 3 minutes to take 8oz from room temperature to 98F, and credits a 100 watt element against the 60 watts it says other portables use. The Momcozy is rated at about 2 minutes for 4oz of water and 5 minutes for 4oz of breast milk, and in our own use a 10oz bottle took 10 to 15 minutes. That is mostly the volume talking, but it is the number to plan around.

Which holds more, the Momcozy or the Baby Brezza?

The Momcozy, by a wide margin. It takes up to 17oz against the Baby Brezza's 9oz stainless cup, so one fill covers more than a single feed. If you are out for a full day, that difference decides it, because the Baby Brezza means refilling from something else you are also carrying.

Which one should you buy?

Buy the Baby Brezza if your problem is a hungry baby and three minutes matters, or if you want something slim enough to live in a cup holder. Buy the Momcozy if your problem is a long day out and you would rather fill once and forget it. We rate both 5 out of 5 and we own both, which is the honest answer: they solve different halves of the same problem.

Can both warm breast milk storage bags?

Both will, with different ceilings. The Baby Brezza has a 99F setting meant for milk storage bags and takes a filled 6oz bag. The Momcozy has breast milk modes at 90, 95 and 98F and the capacity to take more. For anything about how breast milk itself should be handled and heated, follow the CDC rather than a gear blog, this one included.

Which is easier to clean?

Both are easy, and the Momcozy is the simpler of the two: four parts, the thermos, the lid and two silicone seals, so the rinse after an outing is a travel mug job. The Baby Brezza puts liquid straight into the stainless cup, so there is no adapter to lose, which means less to clean but also nothing to take apart if something dries in a seal.

Is the Baby Brezza portable the same as the Baby Brezza countertop warmer?

No, and it is worth being clear about it. The unit here is the cordless portable one, the slim flask-shaped warmer that charges over USB-C. Our countertop warmers are the Philips Avent, the Kiinde Kozii and a Momcozy, which is a different comparison entirely and one we cover in our bottle warmer roundup.
